Resilient Algiers

In partnership with Civic Studio, the Water Leaders Institute, Urbanscapes NOLA, Hưng Đạo community leaders, and other local organizations, the Resilient Algiers cohort engaged in a powerful series of workshops and learning sessions focused on green infrastructure and community-led climate solutions. The project, supported by the City of New Orleans, aims to boost climate resilience in Lower Algiers and the Cut Off neighborhood, areas disproportionately impacted by flooding and disaster vulnerability.
Throughout four workshops, participants deepened their understanding of New Orleans’ drainage infrastructure and explored how gray and green infrastructure work together to reduce flooding and improve hazard mitigation. Through hands-on activities and interactive presentations, community members gained practical tools to implement green infrastructure both on their personal properties and at the future community center site.
