Request for Bid

Introduction:

Song Community Development Corporation is soliciting proposals for a water sampling research lab to contract for a 2 year project focused on mitigating nutrient pollution on community waterways in New Orleans East. The time period for the project will be May 2023 to April 2025. The chosen sampling team will take water samples and test for Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and several types of bacteria.

The purpose of this project is to mitigate non-point source pollution and stormwater runoff with green infrastructure, centered on community education and participation in all aspects of the project.

Description of services requested:

  • Work with Song CDC to develop a Quality Assurance Project Plan including providing sampling and analysis procedures.

  • Sample 3 sites throughout New Orleans East chosen by community members in May to gather baseline data

  • Disseminate initial data to community members in plain language so that they may understand

  • Once green infrastructure projects are built, resume testing of 3 sites on a monthly basis. This will be approximately 18 months of sampling.

  • Present findings to community members at the end of the project.
